How our board works

The Trust Horizon board is made up of six Trustees – four elected and two appointed. Our elected trustees hold their positions for four-year terms. Two elected trustees represent Whakatāne and Kaingaroa Village, one represents Ōpōtiki, and one represents Kawerau.

It’s our trustees’ job to make sure the Trust operates under the terms of the Trust Deed, the Charities Act and Trustee Law.

How our elections work

Every second year, the Trust holds an election for two trustees. Elections are held in odd-numbered years, and are run by online or postal vote.

If you’d like to make a trustee nomination, you can pick up a form from the Trust Horizon office or call the electoral officer on 0800 922 822.
