Nominations for Trust Horizon Board open this Friday

Nominations open this Friday, 16 July 2021, for the election of two trustees (Whakatāne District Council/Kaingaroa Village area) to Trust Horizon (formerly the Eastern Bay Energy Trust).

The Trust has a total of six trustees, including four elected and two appointed trustees. Of the four elected trustees, two are from the Whakatāne District Council/Kaingaroa Village area, one from the Kawerau District Council area and one from the Ōpōtiki District Council area.

To be eligible for nomination, a candidate must be aged over 18 years, and be resident within the Whakatāne District Council/Kaingaroa Village area.

Nomination papers are available to be downloaded here, by phoning the electoral office on 0800 922 822 to have one posted or emailed out, or in person from the Trust Horizon office, 5 Richardson Street, Whakatāne.

Nominations must be received by noon on Friday 13 August 2021.

If more than two nominations are received, an election will be held by postal and electronic voting, commencing with the mailing of voting documents to electricity consumers in the Whakatāne District Council/Kaingaroa Village area from Friday 10 September 2021.

Completed voting documents must be returned to the electoral officer by the close of voting at noon on Friday 1 October 2021, and the preliminary results will be available later that afternoon.
